Stealing Our Thunder.

I admit that I was excited when I heard that Oklahoma City was actually getting an NBA team - even though I don't like basketball at all - but it is a real disappointment that this excitement  has been ruined by the new OKC Thunder logo.  Apparently it makes Oklahoman's look like amateurs and the logo is the joke of many design related blogs.

Who in their right mind would vote to move forward with a design that sucks as bad as this one?  What kind of fools would allow something to be produced that is a branding joke?  And is Adidas smoking crack by having their name associated with products that are going to result in lackluster sales?

I think the thing that will help this entire situation is that there is a love of basketball here but if I were Ackerman McQueen, the advertising firm who helped the NBA and Oklahoma City crew to develop this identity, I would be totally embarrassed and ashamed of this work.  I am!

Poor P Diddy...Wah!

I read an interesting article on CNN.com that Sean "P Diddy" Combs is complaining to our "brothers and sisters" in Saudi Arabia to give us free oil so he can fly in his private jet again.  Seems the cry baby has to actually fly commercial with the common people...like the one's who probably buy the crap he is selling.

How can we just sit back and let him suffer like this? I mean it's not like we have people in the world who are dying of starvation or rotting from diseases they can't afford medicine for.

I think I'll send him a pacifier to suck on!

WordPress as a CMS

I have been working on and with websites for quite some time and I continue to learn more every day.   Now that I have joined the team at iThemes, I am learning more about WordPress and just how versatile it is for a website content management system.   We just launched a website called WordPress as a CMS that is filled with tutorials, information, and a PDF book on how you can use WordPress to manage your site.

I'll admit that initially I was not a big fan of WP at first but as I see what IS possible and the awesome proects we are working on - I highly recommend businesses, churches, and non-profits look into this great solution.

Visit the website at http://wordpresscms.ithemes.com and see what you think.
